Located in the old convent of the Carthusian monks, the museum presents a remarkable course in the history
of the art of the Middle Ages at the 20th century.

The convent of the Carthusian monks with its pink stone and brick frontages, high of 16th at the 18th century, is a rare example of the monastic architecture of the French Flanders: cloister, refectory, chapter house, home of the hosts are an jewel case for the rich person collections of the museum.


The refectory ribbed vault shelters the retables of the 16th century coming from the close abbeys: polyptyques of
Jean Bellegambe and
Jan van Scorel, among other works of the Middle Ages and Rebirth
in Flandres
